Cette collection, comme nous le disons à la page "Collection je Raconte" est une reprise par Nelson de la collection pour enfants "Told to the children" de T.C. & E.C. JACK à l'occasion de l'acquisition de cette dernière compagnie en 1915 par les Editions Nelson .
Le petit format 12 x 15 a du être conservé au tout début pour la collection anglaise et la collection soeur française "Je Raconte"

"When I was a little girl there stood on the third bottom shelf of a tall book-case in our home a book with a dingy cover and an uninteresting name.It was called 'the Parent's Assistant.' One wet day I began to wonder what it was that the dingy book assisted my parents to do. To find out I took it from its place and opened it. Picture my surprise when I saw the printer on the title-page "The Parent's Assistant, or Stories for children." I could not read the stories then, because of the difficult words, but later I devoured them all, and the one I liked best was 'Simple Susan.'
For three reasons I tell you that tale again in this little book. Firstly, because 'the Parent's Assistant' is not likely to attract you and any more than I did me, and I cannot bear to think that Susan might never cross your path. Secondly, because if you did meet her in 'The Parent's Assistant,' you would stumble over many words and sentences that you could neither read yourself not understand if they were read to you. and thirdly, because I know that Miss Olive Allen, who loves Susan, can paint for you exactly the pictures you will like. If you, too, should love 'Simple Susan' and should wish other stories of the same kind told and pictured for you, you must write to let me know, and I shall see what I can find for you in my dingy copy of 'The Parent's Assistant."

Un Nelson postérieur à 1915 présente une pub pour T.C. & E.C. JACK LTD dont elle est propriètaire. Ceci laisse à penser que les Editions Nelson ont continué à commercialiser sous le label de l'ancien Editeur, les livres en stock et probablement des "réimpressions maison" sans avoir la necessité absolue de réimprimer les titres sous une nouvelle reliure à la marque Nelson.
